Redstone Arsenal Site

Message From the Director

Tim White

It is with great pride that I welcome you to Florida Tech in Huntsville, Ala. Our location has been offering graduate coursework to both civilian and military personnel on the Redstone Arsenal and in the Huntsville area since 1976.

The majority of the students enrolled in our graduate programs are people who work on Redstone Arsenal, at any number of Redstone's contractors nearby, or at employers in the Huntsville area including Wyle Labs, Jackson Hospital, Jacobs Engineering, Boeing and Chrysler Corporation.

Our students come from diverse backgrounds including those that are active or retired military; or military reserve personnel. About one quarter of students are DOD civilians and some attend our site from the Huntsville community and are not directly affiliated with either the defense or aerospace communities

This is why I am so proud to be a part of this university and a resident of the Huntsville community.

For over 30 years, Florida Tech has had a continuous presence in the Huntsville community.  During that time, Florida Tech has graduated over 2,500 students in over 25 disciplines in this region of Alabama.

Florida Tech has a staff of 17 adjunct professors and five administrative staff to serve our students. The faculty work full-time in their respective disciplines and provide  a "real world" teaching methodology in their evening classes enabling the students to acquire and use those tools, practices, and techniques needed for professional success , career development and organizational growth.

At a recent alumni event I met one of our graduates and he made the point of expressing his sincerest appreciation to Florida Tech for having the off campus site in Huntsville. This gentleman - an engineer with the U.S. Army - went on to say that Florida Tech is a valuable resource to northern Alabama and the south-central Tennessee area; and that his career success over the past few years is a direct result of the education he received from Florida Tech. This is why I'm proud... not of myself but of the success of our students!

On behalf of our faculty, staff and administrators we welcome you to Florida Tech. Our doors are always open.

Cheers,
Timothy J. White, D.P.A.
